Frederick Weisenborn has been a hobby blacksmith since he was very young and graduated from Trinidad State Junior College’s (TSJC) Gunsmith Program in 2005. Fred was an active member of BAM (Blacksmith Association of Missouri) for many years while growing up. He spent a summer as the resident assistant for Pennsylvania’s Touchstone Center for Crafts.
Fred found inspiration in Mastersmiths Raymond Rybar Jr. and Bill Fiorini after attending their damascus classes at Touchstone Center. Wanting to bring his two passions together, Frederick joined the renowned Trinidad State Gunsmith Program with the hopes of one day making his own barrel quality damascus and other intricate damascus firearm accessories. The program gave him an eye for detail and quality the he strives to incorporate into every project.
After graduating from the TSJC Gunsmith Program, he began his collection of tools and materials. During this process, he quickly became fascinated with damascus pens and started creating his own pens in order to perfect his polishing, etching, coloring, and finishing of damascus. The results are clearly exceptional.
