Gabriel has a wide variety of skills from his background as a USMC marine, professional chef, restaurant owner, and certified welder. He uses these skills to make knives that will serve their owners for a lifetime just like his loyal family pet that his forge is named after! Paring knives are one of the essential kitchen knives every cook should have on hand. After a chef's knife, you need a paring knife. It's perfect for any paring task, from hulling strawberries to peeling an apple. It also handles jobs such as chopping small foods, like garlic cloves or ginger, against a cutting board. The 3.7 inch blade is the perfect length for most jobs.
The blade is antiqued 80CrV2 carbon steel, hardened to 61-62 Hrc. This high performing carbon steel holds a razor sharp edge and remains highly chip resistant. An antiqued finish helps protect the knife from rust. The flat ground blade is distal tapered, which lightens the blade and gives it a great balance.
Handle scales are black burlap Micarta. They are secured to the full tang using two stainless pins. The handle is domed for a comfortable, secure grip. The handle will hold up very well to the harsh demands of either a home or professional kitchen. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Nice work throughout!
