Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 19 years old (as of the spring of 2023) is a Washington native. His passion for bladesmithing is clear throughout all his knives. His work and aesthetic have tremendous refinement despite only having been making knives for 5 years. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 8 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. This nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is Jordan's own twisted W's damascus forged from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging. A forge finish along the spine shows the knife was forged closely to shape for optimal grain structure. Jordan's touchmark is on the left side of the blade. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to prevent rust.
The handle is African blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) sculpted to provide a comfortable grip. African blackwood is among the most dense, durable woods anywhere in the world and is highly prized for its jet black appearance. The handle is fit perfectly to vintage emerald paper Micarta bolsters. This knife is lightweight and will remain comfortable even after hours of use. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
