Description: This Lockback folder was made by Texas knifemaker Rendon Griffin in the fall of 2002. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, it could have just been made. Rendon began making knives in 1965 and started engraving his own knives in the mid 1980s. Sadly, he passed away in August 2014. Both of his sons apprenticed under him and continue to make knives today.
The four inch blade was formed from a bold twist pattern damascus forged from carbon steels. It is hollow ground and features vine pattern filework along the spine. The filework travels from the spine into the backbar. The blade has smooth action.
Stabilized giraffe bone scales are surrounded by 416 stainless steel front and rear bolsters. The bolsters and the escutcheon inlaid into the right scale are engraved in floral scroll.
Excellent work throughout!
