Description: The Kumagoro Hachi six inch slicing knife is perfect for slicing fruits, vegetables and meat, as well as performing other detail tasks. The thin blade is longer than a paring knife and has a thinner profile than a chef's knife. It is one of the essential knives to have in the kitchen. The precise blade is perfect for slicing tomatoes and other delicate items.
Kumagoro Hachi knives are made by craftsmen in Sanjo, Japan using the time-tested traditional forging techniques of Japanese swordsmiths. The central core is high performing Takefu VG10 stainless steel. This steel, high in molybdenum, vanadium and cobalt, holds an incredible edge. Surrounding this hagane (inner core) are eight layers of soft, supportive steel called suminagashi or damascus steel. Each damascus pattern is the result of its unique forging process. The blade comes razor sharp and fully honed.
The handle is made from durable pakkawood. The resin impregnated wood is riveted to the tang and holds up beautifully in either a home or profession kitchen.
Kumagoro Hachi knives provide a high performance kitchen knife with an incredible price.
